I made a girl stop carrying her LV bag

In my media research: principles + practices (summer) 4+ hour class, I made a comment during one of our "close reading" sessions. An unnamed female, loves to carry her brand new LV speedy bag around (we have 2 classes together, so I see her almost 8 hrs a day!) and she decides to write one of her papers on her LV bag. In our paper, we had to analyze our topic and decipher any symbolism and stereotypes it may have. It was a fun paper and the day it was due we discussed it and she was up to talk about her beloved bag.

My prof then asked her some general questions like who is Louis Vuitton, what's the monogram of and any other visual characteristics of the bag. But she was clueless and I ended answering all of her questions - He was a french man, He was dead, He first made trunks and luggage, The flowers are similar to the fleur de lys, etc. You know general shit you should know before deciding to spend/throw away a few hundred bucks! Then, one of the dudes in my class blurts out, "And aren't the characters on the monogram suppose to match up?" Genious! And he wasn't even gay!

So, I begin to spew out, "Yeah and they only use one piece of leather, so you can see that on one side of her bag the LVs are upside down!" My prof then tells the LV girl to bust out her bag so she can see and begins to pass it around after inspection. But as we all could clearly see, it was a fake. Both sides had LVs facing the right way and when you looked underneath there was this strip of leather that put the bag together.

We didn't say anything and just moved along to the next paper.

So, the day after, she comes to class sans LV or as Sir Mix Alot likes to call it "Swapmeet Louie" - I hope I didn't embarass her.

I now live in two places: my dorm during the week and our apt on the weekend. The move wasn't so bad, but I'm such a nerd and actually misplaced one important thing - my f*cking eye drops. No, not some crazy Japanese brand that makes your eyes feel all minty clean (Roto), but my Rx eye drops - PATANOL! It so sucked cause instead of paying the $25 co-pay, I had to pay the full $108.00 because I had to re-fill my Rx before the next date! I couldn't wait until mid-June cause I wouldn't be able to see since my eyes would swell up and get that annoying gritty feeling.

All I have to say to that is "crap".

Well dorm life is rough. On the first day, I find out that the cafeteria is closed for the summer, that is until the summer camp or some conference occurs. So, I need to get a fridge and luckily, someone hears me vent. My friend then, brings me over a mini-fridge left by a recent grad in his hall. Thank god!

But now a new problem, bug effin' bites. See, I am highly allergic albeit being healthy overall, I get a bite from a bug and bam! Big, red bumps magically appear filled with nasty clear pus. It's like I just came from the Amazon or something. Ugh! They better clear up by this Sunday which is the Bay to Breakers! Wooohooo! My gfs and I are excited and undecided on what to dress up as. Maybe I can come as a West Nile Virus victim --- haha! Ok knocking on wood now.

And yeah, the girl who lives next door is knocking the boots with her bf big time! I guess our beds are on opposite sides of the wall we share and when she gets busy her damn headboard is taking a beating. It scared me the first time and took me all of 2 seconds to figure out what was going on.

Back to apt news, we finally picked out a couch! Woot, woot. It's contemporary and most of all, soft and comfy. By the way, this is no way an open invitation to crash people! That is, unless I like you and find you terribly interesting and not annoying. That narrows it down to 6 people including Jamie Cullum. I'll give you a hint to the other five: I've known them for over a decade.

Jon + I just realized that we gave away our Henckels starter set to Ang + Ed last year, so I'm glad I saved my Williams-Sonoma gift card that I got for the holidays so I can buy myself these bad boys! Aren't they gorgeous? I love chopping stuff up with the Santoku! It has a great grip and balance so you can karate chop-chop all your fruits and veggies evenly.

Oooooo! I'm getting excited! I can once again make interesting meals and hopefully, meet another pair in the City who would want to replicate "Cook-Offs" we used to have with a certain couple who we no longer associate ourselves with - cause one was, I mean still is a crazy-money-

We went to Room & Board before we actually had a flat to furnish. Just got excited I guess, but little did we know that it would be a few weeks before we actually would move into one. San Francisco is a tough city to look for place that'll fit your needs, lifestyle, space, and price range. It's a biznatch and a half!

And when Jon told me we finally got a place I told everyone near me at the moment. Conveniently, I was at a party so that made it easy. I got hugs and cheers like I've been accepted into some secret society. Skull & Bones? Nope, a more elite group for about 700,000+ people living in a 7 x 7 square mile space.

I tell ya' looking for a couch was a much simpler task. But what color and what size?

Jon + I are finally moving to the City! We got a flat in the Haight and it's got hardwood floors and the rooms are painted green, pink, orange and yellow! Very festive. Now, we're thinking about getting some furniture so here's a list of some cool things we are thinking of to furnish our flat.

We saw a retro antique on at a shop called Past Tense at the Marina and I've been in love with the design eversince. It's at a slight angle so you can read comfortably without falling asleep - one of Jon's problems with a chair that's too comfy.

Push Pin Lamp ($20)
Not this big obviously, but I thought this was sooo cute and geeky I know. And you turn this lamp on by pushing the pin down on to the cork base! Nuts!

I know I haven't posted anything in a long time, but I had some issues whether or not I should post and dammit I just don't have the time. But I right now I'm procrastinating. I should be finishing up my final paper for my first summer session. Yup! Everyone is finishing up the spring quarter or semester and I'm a week away from my second summer session. Insane! I need to party and I think I also need new girlfriends, who are more like me.

So, my internship is freakin' awesome and so is school! I'm happy =) I'm getting to know the City much better through my internship and meeting some awesome people, and not so awesome as well. I don't know if I should talk about it here though. Well, I'm not really in the mood to blog so until next time!

Grabbed a slice at Golden Boy...garlic and clams! mmmmm.

Wooo-hooo! I've got an interview for an intership at Nantucket Nectars on Thursday! Ya, baby! What up! I hope I get it, wish me luck!

About the poster, I'm starting to round up some people who will want to run the Bay to Breakers dressed up as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I am gonna be Violet, the gum chewing girl who turns into a blueberry! Haha! That would be funny! I can't wait for the movie come out this July!

Ok, I can't sleep as usual and my eyes are hurting me right now. They are so bloodshot and its very painful to look at bright objects like ummmm, lights I suppose. Maybe I should change my lenses, but it has only been 2 weeks and as I recall monthlies are to last a month, correct? Maybe bacterium has made a nice home of my lenses and have come to cultivate in my eyes! Ewwww. I just convinced myself to dispose of them!

Crappers! I also found out that its suppose to rain Thursday afternoon which is about the same time I have my informal, internship interview. Oh goodness, I am excited though! That will mean that I can go to all of the cool venues in SF and its surrounding areas this summer! Woo-hoo once again!

My weekend was insanely fun =) (click title for pictures)

On a pretty early Saturday morning, Crystal and I went to the Fashio Co-Op event at 111 Minna Gallery in the City to check out some new and small designers of fashionable clothing, jewelry, handbags, and other knick-knacks. We went about a half hour before they let us in, in anticipation of receiving goodie bags (only for the first 200)! After all, we did have to pay $3-5 to get in to shop, so why not a little something to take home if we couldn't find a thing. But, some girls cut and by the time we came up to the door, all of the goodie bags were gone. Boo, you whores!

The place was packed and full of crazy biatches trying to grab at the first thing they can see! They even had Sevens and Diesels for $55.00! That was a great deal, but they were also all gone before we realized where they were. It's all good though since Diesels can be found for much cheaper and Sevens are on the verge of being played out. In the end, Crystal and I got some cute bags. Crystal got a vintage inspired BoHo tote with orange Bakelite handles and I got an adjustable, ergo hobo made from vintage fabrics by Love Mert. I love it and finally got a hobo that no one has! I love it and it reminds me of my grandma's decor in the PI.

Later in the day, Crystal and I went about the City "tourist style" to the Haight and Pac Heights for what else, but Coffee Bean's Green Tea Ice Blended! Though, the jerk, I mean cashier forgot to give me a receipt. So, I said I should get this for free since there's a sign right there that basically states, "If you don't get a receipt, you get your drink free." But he argues that the machine ran out of paper. Yeah buddy, that's your job remember, not mine. Needless to say, I will be sending out an e-mail to complain(my best trait).

After all the sightseeing, we headed to Noe Valley to chill before our nite's venue at Adrian's apt. We relaxed our tired doggies and went to a cheap ass sushi place. For $3.00-5.00, you can get 16 pieces of some delish sushi. Ahhhh. I am craving it as type. You can even BYOB w/o getting charged. Sick! Later on, we head out to Effection's art shindig to check out what's new in all kinds of art, function and fashion. Pretty fun, but the rain kinda killed it. The venue was at a warehouse that did not have an indoor staircase, so to check out the fashion show we had to haul our asses out to the rain, and fall in line so that they can check our hands for a stamp.

It was a tiring day, but fun overall. I can't wait for girls' night out this coming weekend!

its weird right now.

the silence is eerie at night, yet so peaceful and i am all alone. just finished up the power point part of my group project because my partner is an idiot, but i guess that's what business school teaches you; to work with people smart and dumb.

we met at noon-ish and the weather was sooo nice i wanted to postpone our meeting until tomorrow. i should have since she got no work done and was playing around with her broken mouse when i got to her dorm. it turns out, all the mouse needed was a battery. IDIOT! and she had the nerve to say, "oh do you know anything about computers. "

"i use a MAC bitch!"

so we traded notes and looked at each other's pp presentation. damn! hers sucked ass. so i left and headed to the city. what a waste of time. it was sunny and bright out and i wasted 90 minutes of my time babysitting a college student who dared to talk shit about me to a friend of mine. "omg, C didn't even let me know she was in my group and she hasn't done shit."

"biatch, i know him, he's in my group for another class." (i'm glad he stuck up for me.)

the lesson ---> Do not talk shit in a very small college.

There's 600 students total, but sometimes it feels like 60.

saturday nite, checked out Swig for a possible birthday venue, and went to Roy's (Hawaiian Fusion) for dinner. it was raining, but it didn't feel too chilly. it was perfect, until my feet started to ache from my pointy shoes. i hate them. i got a blister and was upset.

when i get cranky, you will know it.

Fat, so run! (reads --->fatso run!)
Wow! I can't believe I really got sick: phlegm, sore throat, coughs, and all. I must be really out of shape to get this sick. And I looked at the scale and OMG, I thought I was imagining things. This time it's no excuse, regardless of the fact that I came home from dinner et al, I should not have let myself go and be soooo unhealthy. I don't feel bad for myself for letting myself go, as much as really being disappointed. I guess I have to up the anty. Riding my bike, walking to school, and my 20-40 minute cardio is not enough...I think I have to run! =-O

I should run and actually get prepared for the Bay to Breakers. I should be able to run 7 miles with a costume under 90 minutes. That is my goal. Great, now I can't or shouldn't give in to my sweet tooth.

The 'Rents
I finally told my mother that I am agnostic after a very nagging phone call of "Why don't you find a church?" and "You need to call me every two days!" Ummm, yea right. I have never listened to you in all of my living existence, so what makes you think I will now.

She is the least knowledgeable person I know to date, or well just as much as my middle sister, and decides that she is almighty. She tells me what to do with everything and it is always soooo wrong. We are the exact opposite: she nags and I go away. Geeez, she got pissed off when I said I believe in Evolution and definitely not in "creation".

She has told me (not asked) that I need a place to go to pray and it can't be at home; I need religion; to get married or make my bf marry me; put my money in her bank's low yielding interest CD, instead of my own bank's much higher rate; to go visit her on my bday; calls me on her bday to remind me that its her bday; asks what presents I've got for her; not to go out so much; and basically, don't have fun.

But, my dad and I are pretty much alike: we are both hot heads, science buffs, and share a love of chirashi and noodle soup. He knows that I do not solely believe in Catholicism and is fine with it. We actually talk every other day and this drives my mother insane!

All I can say is, if she actually played/talked/read with us when we were little kids, then maybe my two younger sisters and I would actually like her. Oh and if she hadn't cheated on my dad, that would have helped too.

The moral(s) of the story ----> kids choose one parent over another for a reason and kids always know what is going on.

Went to Keeble and Shuchat to check out the new digi cam I 'm planning to get. I finally sold my Nikon Coolpix 775 and will be getting either a Pentax Optio 5si or a Pentax Optio X. It's a $20 difference between the two on pricegrabber, yet I am unsure if I want the swivel option to take pictures of myself and ____ . Which one would you prefer?
Attempted to buy my Chinese philosophy book at the school bookstore, but they are closed on the weekends. Lame.
Finally found Porridge King! The only place I really know in Daly City. We got lost, irritated, and relieved once found. Ahhhhhh, noodle soup palace! But, I had to get the super addicting egg and shrimp on rice plate. I think it has MSG, so good!
Twin Peaks on a warm and clear day----> Not as scary as Tank Hill at 4 a.m.! I wasn't so fearful of heights here because of the hills in between us and the cityscape. It was gorgeous. Jon and I were actually taking a whole bunch of pics for some tourists, but mine kept asking for different shots, kinda funny. And the mexi ladies selling SF fleecewear were hollering at Jon to buy some fleece cause he was the only one wearing a short sleeved shirt. Believe me that boy, is always hot! ***wink***
Headed to the Haight to surprise my friend from hs who I haven't seen in years. She was surprised and made plans to k.i.t. (just wanted to use that)! Afterwards, heard some dude hollering at my boy(friend) and it was his bff (best friends forever) chillin' at a bay window at a friend's apt on Haight. We went up and hollered at people as well. It was a sic place. From the window, we resolved a parking confrontation; the boys swooned girls with their guitar/vocal? skills; threw pennies at girls to lure them; and I yelled at a guy with a film camera to record us for whatever film project he was up to.
Then, to Union Square for a brief stint of returning failed internet purchases.
Dinner time at the Richmond district to get our grub on with Jen and Uly at a super cheap sushi boat place. $1.00 to $2.00 plates and it was good. Afterwards, we went to a crazy lookin' Japanese style container store; a bookstore which advertised forbidden books that we were not able to locate and a crazy ass fish/flower store combo! I was starting to fall in love with a tank full of shrimps and purple sea cucumbers, when my bf told me to look at the bottom. It was a pile of dead shrimps! **wimpers**The red shrimps were eating the clear shrimps! Ahhhh! Isn't that shrimp canabalism or something?
We were both finally tired and my throat was so itchy, we decided to go home. Until, I realize we were on Fillmore in Pac Heights and this could only mean one thing---> Coffee Bean! So, I got some relief in a Green Tea Ice Blended. Then, of course, I had to pee!
This time we were in the Marina/Cow Hollow so we make a pit stop at the Bus Stop, a bar and not a stop for the muni. As, I was waiting in line, a bunch of drunken girls stumble out of the stall with (1) their pants unzipped, (2) underwear in full view, and (3) piss on their pants! It is nasty when you get way out of control. So, we pee and leave. But, I spot a pretty happenning bar called Bar None. Inside, I felt at home. Yuppies and preppies galore! It was chill with good tunes playing and the best part of it was that they make a pretty sic Snake Bite!

By now, I'm really pooped.

Thursday - Went back to Blush. Yup, I know, but we had another VIP Booth, so why the heck not. Besides, Mr. Tough Guy Bouncer was MIA. I'm guessing he's fired.

Friday - I was really tooo tired to go out, but I forgot to cancel and it was way too late to do so. Checked out the Cellar for 80s nite. Ummmm, it sucked ass.

Mooooved on to Holy Cow (see pic). It was mad packed with the dancing impaired. I mean sooo bad that they started to play alternative and people were just swaying back and forth. But, besides that the atmosphere was pretty fun. Heck, even my bf got hit on by a thuggish latino dude. Hrmmm, I wonder.

Finally! Checked out the Butter hype and it was chill like a house party deep in the dirty, dirty metal wasteland. It was hot!

Located in SoMa's Corridor, you need to park at the Costco parking lot 1.5 blocks away for $10. You can't miss Butter's location with that bright yellow glow of a sign and the lack of a wait and cover. But don't judge the place based on that.

Inside we grubbed on some Mac n Cheese, Mini Corndogs, and Tatertots whilest listening to Frenchy LeFreak a few feet away. Very intimate. And downed some new libations - Strawberry Milk Martini (with vodka and strawberry soda) and a Yardhouse Dog (vodka and Rootbeer on tap). The bartenders were also very generous, where else do they empty a whole can of Red Bull or give you the remnants of the martini shaker in another glass. Sick!

And you need not to dress to impress, jeans and a wifebeater will do.

Finally, I got to see some snow this season, but didn't have any time to go hit the slopes. It's cool though, planning to go back late February and maybe again later in the season before all the snow melts. The bf and I are gonna try to snowboard. I gotta see what the heck all the fuss is about and the bf is not very coordinated with the skis so we will see. I always just thought snowboarding was kinda..."ghetto". I apologize for those who enjoy it. I will see though what is up.

Had two drunken nites this weekend and I am glad today is MLK Jr's day. I am taking this day off to recover.

Friday nite - Took the train to Burlingame Ave. to Sephora. Got a nasty ass make-over! The make-up artist put so much make-up on me and extended my eyebrows so I looked like those people who shave theirs off and redraw them carelessly. I then, quickly ran to get some make-up remover. Ate at Isobune again.

Picked up JonF and JenP at HillsB then off to Union Square. Sipped some hot cocoa while they grubbed at Espresso Cafe. Stumbled in to Lefty O'Douls to grab a brewski, for me a shot of vodka instead. They had a horrible piano man, but it was refreshing to hear nonetheless.

Went to listen to Frenchy Le Freak at Ruby Skye. I think it's suppose to be reminiscent of Moulin Rouge in there. But whatever, it was pretty cool inside. The go-go dancers were awesome and actual knew how to dance. They had one of the best costumes on as well. They looked great. The music was also better towards the end of the night...house, house baby! Gonna go back for the Red Party and/or Mardi Gras! My only gripe - small drinks and the bartenders were....hrmmm, just okay.

Ate at Lori's Diner afterwards. Hell, we grubbed! Nothing says you're so drunk (or stoned) but good diner food. My weakness (that nite) - grilled hot dog and garlic fries =)

Saturday nite - Went to a few places: walked around Union Square and grubbed at Lefty's - this time for their Hofbrau. All I have to say is - you better grab some of their delish mac & cheese and mashed potatoes or your bf will get antzy when you steal his grub.

Waltzed into the XYZ bar at the W hotel to grab some drinks. All I got to say is the Raspberry Truffle concoction is mos def worth the $11.00 My martini glass was rimmed in cocoa powder, how good does that sound. Too bad it was old peeps and Asian tourists nite. Will try it out another nite.
Tried it out at 111 Minna but it was a Tsunami Fund Shindig. Also tried to get into Vino Venue but it was closed for a private party. Boo =(

We were about to head out to the car when we got friendly with a doorman and led us to the Clift Hotel's The Redwood Room (pictured, top left). It was ultra hip were the beautiful and the rich get to chill. We were the youngest there, but everyone was so friendly and chatty, even in the bathroom. The decor was sick, esp. the live photos on the wall. Jen and I freaked out each time it blinked or moved. Even saw some local celebs, Adonal Foyle, I guess he plays for the Warriors and he could have sat with us, but I was supposedly hogging th couch.

I got to say that they had one of the best bars I have been to. Comparable to Top of the Mark and a bit better than XYZ Bar. Also got my first taste of Glenlivet in a man's drink - scotch and water. It was actual tasty, I dunno why I liked it since I don't even like beer. I was uttterly smashed that night and never even realized it until I tried to walk, now that was some good alcohol ;-)

I just want to listen to music when I'm while I commute from my apt to the train to school and back. Or when I'm on the go. As simple as that.

I am slowly getting fatter during my stay here at the "meat house". I'm getting more migraines and feel sluggish and slow like a turtle can really kick my ass in a race. I am so gonna go in a veggie fast when I go home...home to my aparte-mant, being alone, sleeping in my own bed that does not require daily inflation. No dog crying, no parents yelling, no sister crying over a bf, no other sister acting like a teenage brat!

I miss my abode.

In the meantime, we went over to the mother's side in Castaic. It's been a long time since we have seen them and I dunno why. Kinda sad actually since we use to hang with that side of the family just as much as our San Diego bunch.

I was also actually surprised that I got some gifts, all good though - gift cards (to Sephora, Macys, Banana Republic, Gap, Best Buy), cash and hella' Hello Kitty stuff (calendar, chopsticks, lip balm, face cloth, candy, fleece blanket)! I am spoiled. Its just too bad that I couldn't give the presents I wanted to give cause of my jobless ass. Well there is always next time =)

"I got a house on the Hills right next to Chino."

Booooo! I don't wanna be here. I must be one of the few people who hate coming home for the holidays. I don't feel the warmth and joy of it at all, sad I know and I wish I was at my apt. In my own place, I can do whatever I wanna do and go where I wanna go. My sisters feel the same way I do. They wish they can move out on their own as well and do as they please. Next year, I will be cutting my vacation shorter, that's for sure!

The first thing I noticed when I came home was the phat ass plasma and sound system my parents were setting up. They also got a new fugly coffee table to place in the "forbidden" living room. This made me so upset because they were giving me shit for wanting $200 to spend at Ikea for a bed frame, desk, and maybe a tv stand! Good lord, not much to ask for since they never even pay for anything! All this crap they bought plus the stupid ass wedding anniversary they threw for themselves -- $20,000+ for an unhappy marriage folks!

And when my little sister had to practice playing the piano, she asked my mom if she could move the photos of herself out of the way so she can lift it up and place her piano piece on it. My mom said, "No, why. You can play the piano with it." Ewwwww, so my sis placed her piece on her photos. Haha, clever!

This is just the beginning of my vacation! Yeaaaay. I also have to spend time with some relatives on my mother's side who are obnoxious, boring, and just plain stupid. My mom just all of sudden made friendly with them right before her wedding...wow! All I can say is sooooooo obvious!

Today, my sisters and I avoided home like the plague! My younger sis wanted to take Santa pics, but he was on a break when we went. Had dinner at T.G.I.Friday's after and a Target run as well. Has anyone heard of this make-up line called "TEN" cause it is amazing! Pretty cute packaging and colors all for $1.00-$2.00 a piece! I made out with some cute new things for $4.00! Can you believe that?!?! At Sephora, they sell the Sugar Credit Card Lip Gloss pretty similar to the ones in the middle -- for $9.50! But at Target, the Ten brand cosmetics were $1.00 so I got 2! Ho, ho ho to me!

My little buttercup Jon finally turned 23! Woo-hoo! He had a 3-day celebration weekend and it was tiring but fun!

Two days before the bday...Jon, Adrian and I chillax at Stinger Lounge and then to Prince of Wales. Stinger Lounge - my kinda place and Prince of Wales - a man's bar! It's practically encoated with female repellant!

The women of the group - taken right before the club manager tells us to keep to our VIP Booth! Oooooh sooooo-rrrry! The place was E-M-P-T-Y! You should be happy we were lounging around everywhere so it looked like people were actually in this place.

We had dinner at Jon's house then headed over to Blush in Burlingame Ave. I know what you're thinking - "Don't you guys hate this place cause they treated you guys like shit!" - Yup, they did and we got compt a free VIP DJ Booth. We thought it was all good until the bouncer from last time came inside looking for trouble. He had the audacity to leave his station located outside the club, walk inside, upstairs, and back into the VIP DJ booth! To do what exactly you may ask? To bother our friend over a foot that was rested on the couch. My friend replied "What sorry, I didn't hear you?" Ummm yeah, he didn't hear you because we are in the "DJ" booth!

The bouncer with the biggest ego calls for "back-up" thinking we were drunk and causing trouble! What an ass! Sorry but we were not drunk, we just got there and picked on us cause we were the only people in that sorry ass club! The bartender even made us shitty drinks and didn't hear of most of what we requested - when a bartender asks, "Whats in that drink?" - I just assume he's a bar back, sorry poser.

Well as for the bouncer...let's just say he messed with the wrong "kids".

Now back to happier times before the asshole ruined our night!

He was as happy as a clam!

Kris Kringle
Ok, I finally got my kris kringle's present complete. I even returned some things and exchanged it for another. The make-up kit looked like it was made for a little kid so I exchanged it for a shirt...I was thinking of a James Perse top, but I realized the budget was $40.00 so I had to get something else. I hope she will be happy with it cause I think I am. This was the hardest present to find. I was even thinking of getting her a Neighborhoodie - click on the title and the link will take you there. It's a clothing company that customized sweatshirts, t-shirts, bags and baby clothes according to your neighborhood! It is super cute and funny. I was gonna get "I got a house on the Hills right next to Chino." Haha! Snoop style.

Jon's Birthday & Holiday Gifts
We both caved in and told each other what we got. We were both really surprised!!! It was fun and we both couldn't hold it in anymore.

Jon's Birthday Weekend
Jon is gonna be turning 23 this Sunday and we are gonna partay all weekend long! Woo-hoo! Starting with tonight we are gonna go hang with his best friend and his gf in the city, I think. On Saturday, I will be making Asian-Style Tapas to munch on before we head off to Blush in Burlingame Ave. All I gotta say is they better keep their egos in check unlike last time we were about to go in or we're gonna get another free VIP Booth. hehe! Then on Sunday, Jon's family will throw him an early dinner party and I will be making the salad - Baby Spinach with Pear and Gorgonzola drizzled with EVOO and balsamic vinegar. (If you watch Rachel Ray then you know what I'm talking about!)

The Train vs. The Bus
My usual school commute (M-F, no breaks here!) involves a bike ride to the train station and a quick ride on the train. Thank goodness for no traffic on that puppy! Anywho, I take the bus on rainy days and have also gone on these past two days and I noticed that the bus and the train take on two breeds of commuters. Train commuters take it to be more efficient and Earth-friendly, everyone is also reading or doing something constructive. While bus riders do exactly that, they ride the bus and for the most part are rude people or weirdos. But, I guess this does not apply to Muni commuters, just the VTA and SamTrans bus riders who are the weirdest bunch ever.

The Mall...
I went for Round 2 today and I thought I was done until Jon came over and I showed him Kendel's gift, a book on the mechanics of a car - nerdy I know. Apparently, the book was missing a part on the car that is suppose to show something that I have no idea what for. So, I need to return that and exchange it but with Jon in tow for him to explain.

I also went inside the Kate Spade shop that opened up and it is too cute. I love everything inside of it. She could be the next young "Martha" minus the cooking mess. But I went in there to try on the Maddie bag (see picture). I am in love with it. I know, ya-ya I am always in love with a bag, but with all of my other ones sold off I have less of a variety. Sad, I know. But, I will save up to buy this bag.

The Neighbors
She is old, loud and has no teeth. She also has the tendency to say "Hello!" through my window while I am doing something in my apt, scaring me in the process. Good grief, I can't even open up my own windows. Plus, she loves to get up at 2:00 a.m. to watch t.v. in bed! It is soooo loud! I have no idea why she does that. And it doesn't help that we share a very thin wall where we both can hear everything, even when she talks in her sleep or watches those damn sex hotline infomercials.

Oh and she's the one who has been stealing my NY Times! So, I wrote a note and plastered it on the mailbox bullentin board for the entire complex to see. I even told her that she owed me $18.00 for all the freaking newspapers she steals. The weird part is that she doesn't even read them! She takes them out of the plastic bag that has my name on it and puts that in the trash along with the paper! Weirdo, at least recycle the bin is a few feet away. So, my nasty note put her sad, old ass in check.

My neigbor who lives right below me is super duper loud. He gets home late at night and makes the loudest noise getting into his apt. So loud that I think I'm getting robbed by the clumsiest robbers. I don't think he's got the placement of his apartment right since his recent move cause I hear things get knocked over as he trips over them...every single night. Plus, he slams his door shut. It't like dude, the whole complex is asleep.

School is on a hiatus.
I am done with finals!!! Woo-hoo! I was actually done last Saturday morning and I have just been recuperating from all those late nights which is actually everynight - I am a night owl, but put me in front of the t.v. and I will fall asleep. Why? Beats me. I like the background noise it soothes me and keeps me alive. It probably has something to do with my loud ass family and my parents constant bickering and yelling. Sad, I know. Whoa, I just went off on a tangent there.

I have gotten 3 out of 5 of my grades and I have an "A" and 2-"B's"! Pretty cool, not bad. Maybe I'll actually graduate soon...in less than two years. Hoorah for that.

The Puppy Project.
So, the past few days I have been slowly tidying up and finishing up some shopping and Holiday projects. My bf wanted to send everyone we were close to a puppy via UPS - we placed them in boxes, cut out holes for them to breathe, and put enough food for about 5-7 business days (you know how slow UPS ground is). Oh crap, I forgot to put water in the box. Haha, just kidding! Just checking if anyone is actually reading this! We are sending out cards though, like real life non-married, committed couples who use to live together and will resume again in the next year. You know the types.

Oh and don't you just hate how every freakin' online store has a "Wishlist" feature?!? Well now there is no need to worry because good ole' Google has the answer! They will let you place items you want in your personalized wishlist or shopping list from any online store. And the best part is....(drumroll)...they arrange the items you are looking for by price! Shopping has taken a toll on my Coach Signature Mini Skinny in Baby Blue aka My Wallet. I am buying this and that for my parents, sisters, bf, bf's family, babies galore, kris kringle, white elephant, birthdays, etc. It's driving me insane to budget with my jobless income so that my gifts aren't crappy and useless! I can't wait for the day when I can get them better presents. It is hard to please people and I thank God for all of those who have a wishlist, it made my job a helluva lot easier. As shallow as a wishlist might be, it sure helps figure out things for people who you only see once a year.

Whatever it is that is what I am gonna celebrate from now on and I will take it in offense if it is not used to greet me during this season. It's hilarious and that little Timmy in the end just got me bawlin'! That is the best marketing scam yet not including Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Mother's/Father's Day, etc. You know what I am getting at. Well off to dreamland I go.

Massage
Today, I was pampered at school with massages. They hired a bunch of people and set it up in the student lounge. While I waited, I had some hot tea from the tea and coffee bar they also provided, and sat in the big comfy leather chairs. It was nice and toasty in there. When it was time for my massage, I chose the chair over the table since it was not so private. It kind of hurt in the beginning, but she said it was because I was tense on my left side - I guess I was imbalanced and knotted up. But boy did my massage feel so good that I started to fall asleep. I need to pamper my self more often.

Gelato
I am in heaven right now - Gilmore Girls goes great with Green Tea Gelato. Yummy, yummy indeed. I admit it was an impulse buy and I wasn't even sure if it would taste like the ones at Nijiya, but this was better. Wish you could taste it =)

The Sheltie
It's official...Jon's family will be getting there Shetland Sheepdog soon. It's a female pup or a bitch (hehe) named Mika. It will be so pampered and I'm already jealous, especially when Jon spent $70.00 just on brushes from England for her! Geez-crie. And this weekend we will be looking for Mika's special doggie dishes. Man, dog stuff is so cute nowadays!

My Tummy Feels Like A Rock...
I had a blast at Thanksgiving since it's a change from my family's all-day-feast-fest and since more than half of the student body at my school lived outside of the country or state, I had 1.5 classes that week! It was super awesome. Jon also got the boot from work early on Wednesday so he was a happy camper.

Wednesday afternoon we started our search for - toast points - which was a struggle since we were helped by a bunch of people who didn't speak English. I called up Trader Joe's, Draeger's, and Mollie Stone's, but finally found someone who understood what they were at Andronico's. I can't believe how hard it was to find toast points if the stores carried caviar, blinis, and creme fraiche in the same vicinity. Weird, indeed.

So, we went to his place to finalize the dinner menu and make a quick run to the Marina and Whole Foods. The next day we all took turns making a dish. It was fun and a good idea.

Black Friday Sales
I didn't buy anything at all, surprised, I know. But we did go to Union Square for the Macy's Tree Lighting Ceremony. The place was packed and we stood right in front of the tree. When the Boys Choir was done singing and all the other hoopla, they finally lit the tree. Man, that puppy was bright. I made sure to look away so I would not be blinded by the light. Unfortunately, no one else in my party did the same.

Good-Bye My Pretties
On Saturday, it was time to bid my clothes, purses and shoes farewell as they were hauled into Buffalo Exchange and Fashion Exchange. Chau, fake Hermes, Gucci, and Coach, and hello COLD HARD CASH! We also walked around Polk St. to check out Cris, an upscale consignment shop. They do have some pretty awesome deals for women, such as Prada, Ferragamo, Gucci, Donna Karan, and Louis. Someone also dropped in some serious LV luggage - a garment bag and keep-all. Crazy!!!

Sunday Brunch
As usual it was off to Copenhagen for brunch, but this time I tried a Shrimp Omelet with Lappi. It was okay, until it upset my stomach. Afterwards, I went to the Apple Store to print out the Sephora coupon, to try to use it, since last Sunday, the manager told us we could use the printout. I was first staking out the register, but no one was buying anything, except for gift cards. Blah! Nevermind, I didn't want to look like a fool, so we left. A few minutes later, Jen tells me she was just there and tried to use it as well, but to no avail. Boo! Stupid manager who told us.

When do these people have time to study? And does "hooking-up" mean having sex? I am too old or naive I guess since I thought it meant making out. Well, I like this show better than the O.C. that's all I have to say about that. And don't be jealous just cause you can't afford to "Bling It!"

Noisy Neighbors!
I guess some people moved in to the empty apartment below mine cause I can hear them talk sooooo loud! I looked at my clock and it was 2 a.m. Ummmm, go to sleep you fobs! I just got home from escuela and I am soaked! My Black F-Uggs my mom got for me really suck. They make all my white socks black and they have seemed to stretch out, so it's pretty hard to walk in. I mean they were fine when we bought them eventhough they weren't the real Uggs, but they were still from Nordstrom's and they don't carry anything crappy, or so I thought.

Plus, I had escuela on a holiday! I didn't even know it was Veteran's Day until I opened up gmail and saw a lot of Sale Ads! That's kinda sad reading back on that.

Yummy in the City!

Back by popular demand (well popular amongst our friends anyway)! Jon and I eat out a lot and when we lived in So. Cali we had a restaurant review site of where to eat cheaply without compromising taste and quality. Well now we have started a blog which we will convert into its own website once Jon chooses a new server. Its just starting so please be patient =) but come and check it out!

Over the Weekend

Jon and I had dinner at Isobune with Crystal and Kristina. I just love that place and will probably never get sick of it! After dinner, we met up with our couple buddy Jon and Jen. I was craving an eclair so I convinced everyone to grab some sweets at Copenhagen Bakery. Once I satisfied my sweet stomach, we headed down the street to F&A's, but the place was dead and they were charging $10 to get in. I don't think so. Well I guess I can wait to get in for free this weekend.

To the next venue, Club Blush in Burlingame which is just a weird location period. They even have the word "club" painted on the side of the building so people won't be confused I suppose. We didn't go in yet and watched the line to see if they were charging cover. Next in line were about 6-7 girls, they didn't get charged so we asked the bouncer what time do they charge, he didn't know but this big chinky fool (see, I can say that because I'm Asian-ish, just like how black people can say that N-word to one another) who apparently worked there wanted to charge us! Well the boys got all worked up (must have been cause they waited to for us girls to finish our sweets) and started yelling at the dude! Aiya! Another embarrassing moment; Jen and I gave each other a look! But the club was apparently charging only couples and males! Shaaaaaaaaady! Please, that chinky fool does not even know the damage we 4 can do and that we live down the street! Fooolio you just lost a helluva lot of business from some real locals!

Next stop, Straits were there was a live jazz band playing, pretty chill! But hellla LOUD! Then, we all looked at each other and made a promise to return to this place when we're about 50 years old or deaf....whichever came first.

The final place to go to w/o going to the city, was Steelhead Brewery. If you live in So. Cali you know what I'm talking about when I say this place looks like a huge BJ's Brewery! It's whatever or perfect for guys. Right when we walk in the 2nd Jon has already gotten into an argument with the hostess. She said we could not get a table if we are not going to order any food and that we had to sit at the crowded and full bar area. Well, Jon #2 really wanted to sit on some comfy chairs that they had, but they were taken so we sat at another table. By this time, three different peole have tried telling us about their policy of you must eat dinner and that we were now taking up a table that a potential customer could be using! Ummm...it's almost 11 pm. Jen and I are embarrassed once again, but then a server came over to take our drink order. He didn't care what we did so kudos to him! At the end, the boys wanted to show off our check and say, "booo-ya!" You just don't know who you will be dealing with.

Well I was tipsy but the party continued on with a liquor run to get some bottles of Moet White Star since it was on sale and we drank, watched Curb Your Enthusiasm to show Jon #2 that if he keeps acting the way he does he's so gonna turn out like the main character.

I swear to Jesus (the Jew, not the Mexican "landscape artist") that my neighbor was singing this out loud to lure a cat! As I was looking out my window, I saw that the cat was hesitant, so I gave my keys a jingle, and the cat ran away from her. ROFL! It was funny you should have seen it! So, my neighbor starts to look for the cat whilest singing that Meow Mix theme song once again! Lady, the cat just wants to be left alone!!!

This is why I think CAT PEOPLE (or all my neighbors who have cats or who want to abduct them) are weirdos! Well, I'm not sure if I will be skiing again =( Maybe, I'll give it another shot, but last year was the first time I went to ski in 4 years and I was scared shitless! I had to ride with ski patrol back to the lodge and everything, so embarrassing!!! See, I've been skiing since I was 9 years old and my parents took my sisters and I up to the mountains every other weekend during the winter season for about 10 years!!! But, I am also deathly afraid of heights! I guess you just don't realize those things when you're younger. Ahhh well, it doesn't mean you can't look good chillin' in the cabin or taking pictures of your friends ski =/

My Parents' 25th Wedding Anniversary

Well, my parents threw themselves a wedding they never had. We first went to the church for a two-hour long impromptu ceremony. I had to read a bible passage on how a wife should be subordinate to her husband??!!?? Oi vay, I did not agree with its content and did not appreciate the last minute warning!!!I also was unaware that I was the maid of honor!

After the ceremony, we went to the hotel for some appetizers before the ballroom was opened up. Then, we were let in the ballroom and ate some more! The salmon was good, but was gone so fast =( But before that I had to give my toast! Everyone thought it was funny and commented on it, so that made me happy!

Next, came the video montage, dancing, singing, cotillion, father-daughter dances, more dancing, singing, and yes, line dancing! Apparently, this is what my family parties are known for. When I finally reached my exhaustion point, I asked for the time and it was only 9:00 pm and we had the ballroom until midnight! I couldn't handle it so we left and got an Ice Blended Green Tea from Coffee Bean!

So that is why I have no pictures to post until next month or Monday...Oh well. But there will be plenty from the upcoming weekend. Jon and I are going to fly to So. Cal for my parents 25th Wedding Anniversary Extravaganza! OMG, I so do not want to be there. My parents are lame and are throwing themselves a wedding: church, cocktail hour, reception, cake and all! Geez, spare me! I wouldn't be acting this way if my parents are loving people.

And my mother has the audacity to call me up and say these exact words, "You have to write a speech for a toast you are going to give to us on behalf of you and your younger sisters. You better make it good, don't embarass us, and don't be mean!" A few days later, "Did you write the speech yet, lemme hear what you got." Oi vay!

It is true what they say, money does not bring happiness. Heck, who am I kidding, just move people!

Recap of the Weekend

Oooops! I totally forgot my camera in the car when I went out this weekend =( Oh well! Here is a photo-less recap...

Friday night, Elaine and Adrian dropped me off at Jon's office, so they can go to dinner with their friends at the Stinking Rose in North Beach. Meanwhile, Jon and I chilled a bit at his house until the traffic died down a bit. We were also looking for a place to have dinner at through Open Table, a website that recommends restaurants and places a reservation for you as well, in return you get rewarded with points to earn something...I forgot already.

But this is how we found Fior D'Italia, the oldest Italian restaurant in America. Jon and I picked up our friend Kristina, and we all had a nice dinner there. When we walked in the hostess couldn't find our reservations because we were late, oops. The restaurant entrance looked small and plain, and we all thought this was it? Little did we know that was just the bar and for people who don't have reservations...so make them if you want to be here, you will miss out on the grand dining area.

We were seated at a booth and I just had to order calamari right away; it's my favorite appetizer and this place claimed to make the best. Honestly, I have tasted something similar in various dim sum and Chinese restaurants at Monterey Park and around the Nogales/Baldwin Park area. Jon and Kristina disagreed with me, but that's because they're both from up north, and dammit I order this all the time! People it was not worth the $11.00! For goodness sakes it was in a coffee filter (for show?)!

The pasta was pretty good though, I had the Canneloni and I tried Krisitna's pesto as well. It wasn't bad, but next time I will try the veal or calamari steak. Our server was too cool for school and came at the right times. He didn't bother us with irritating the question, "Is it good?" Well duh, I would think it was good if I chose this place.

The only bad thing that happened was that a busboy who was carrying a tray full of glasses, hit the booth's corner closest to Jon, and one of the glasses fell on his head. It had just a bit of a creamy drink residue that splattered on his head, shirt and the chair. A few people came to apologize saying the busboy was new and in training, and our server came with the check in hand and deducted the appetizer. Well at least something free. He was nice to have done that on his own.

After dinner, we met up with everyone else to go bar hopping at North Beach, or that's what I thought Elaine (the bday girl) wanted to do. She apparently wanted to go dancing, but there were no clubs in North Beach, besides a few ghetto ones hosted by radio stations and others where you pay for a cover. I don't think so. So, we went to a couple, ultimately staying at one. Well the night ended early...oh well =/

OMG! I accidentallly deleted this post and had to start all over again!
I had a panic attack and was pissed off at my self!

This place claims to have invented the floating boats mechanism, but this isn't the only place like this that I've been to that has claimed to be the first.

Misconception #2) Its open note and book
Misconception #3) I had a lot of time

It turns out that I was the only one in the entire class who turned it in late.
I was so embarassed, and the prof. even said he would dock my grade for being late.
Well I got my paper back today....
And I got an "A-" with a little "good job" comment
I kick ass! Woo-Hoo!
So, I rewarded myself with a SPRITE instead of a Coke for my weekly caffeinated drink!

The Weekend

On Friday Night, Jon and I accompanied his mommy to the city to meet up with her friend whom she met while on a trip to Israel. They have kept in contact over the years through letters, e-mails, and phone, yet haven't seen each other in 15+ years. Crazy, I know, since her friend lives so close, well close enough to visit each other more often.

So we met up at this badass italian restaurant in North Beach called Capp's Corner! I had the veal...mmmm so tender. All of the meals are huge and come with a salad, minestrone, clam chowder and bread. I was super stuffed too cause I shared a slice of cheesecake...ugh. I usually don't eat beef, but I had to make an exception for that place =) After dinner, we went to a pub, but I forgot what it was called. It was just kooky that we were hanging out at a pub with Jon's mom. I even offered her a Snake Bite (Pear Cider and Guiness) and she thought it tasted good! She also got hit on by a biker dude....good times =)

After, we drove his mom around the city to some of the places we hang out at because she thinks its a dangerous place. But we just wanted to reassure her that there were yuppies around like us too.

Saturday Night we ended up at Nola's in Palo Alto. It started to sprinkle but there was still a pretty good crowd. It was my first time chillin' there and it was cool. Pretty, mass produced semi-authentic, Spanish artwork was surrounding us with light strings dangling over head and a big, white canopy to protect us from the rain. I'll go chill there again to get me another Grasshopper =)

Chopsticks or claws or whatever else us females use to make our hairdos stay put, can be pretty expensive to replace since they never really keep that damn spring in place.

My main problem is that my hair is too thick and those plastic things always break. So I got these metal clips (that hairdressers use to keep your hair in place)at a salon supply store. A pack of 6 sells for about $2!

And to add your own personal touch you can crazy glue some beads or other baubble of your choice, but if you know how to wire jewelry you can really make some crazy designs.

Seen on top is the metal clip as is and on the bottom with a faux flower seashell and a magenta swarovski bead.

I got this bag at the Castro Street Fair on Sunday for $30 instead of $50. Pretty good deal since its a classic all around bag for school, vintage hipness, or as a gym bag.

The problem was that it was just too much brown for me, so I added a ribbon belt and a strawberry button to keep it in place in case the knot comes undone. Pretty chic and personalized!

LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics

Last Sunday, I went to Lush to get some cleanser and lotion for my redness, especially since Winter is coming up. Well after some research I finally went in and had a disappointing experience!

The CSR did not care what I had to say and didn't really listen to any of my questions. When I asked her about a product, she denied its purpose and I told her that I read it on the website and this is what it's suppose to do. She gave me an attitude and said, "I don't have time to go online, I'm working here all day long!"

So she tries to sell me the product by saying, "Why don't you just try it? Halle Berry uses it." First of all, I don't care if a celebrity uses it, I wanna know if it works and was that name drop suppose to impress me. I don't F***ing think so crazy ass!

So she gives me more attitude because why....I don't give a FUCK about what the hell she is saying! She just fed me some bullshit and I'm suppose to say, "Oh hell ya! That was delish, you are so right!" Puh-lease!

But I will be there on Sunday before the Castro Street Fair so I can get some personal service from the manager who seems very understanding of the incident. She seems very sweet and I hope for the best.

Today in English class, my professor started to discuss last nite's Presidential debate.
She never really lectures or discusses any of the assigned reading materials, but likes to just chat about what's happening in the world and have us all debate. This is actually more interesting than a boring lecture or a discussion on a book I already read about 3x since I bought it 2years ago.

But to everyone else in the class, especially the dumb ass Footbal Players, I might add, just start talking about random shit! They also just go against what she has to say and talk out of their asses! I am about to crack and yell, "Grow the fuck up! This is college you bufoons, so fucking open your mind and listen!" But I don't because there are only 600 people in my school and I am gonna be here for about 2 years. So I sit and shut up, maybe not for long.

I guess the professor has also picked up on the annoying-ness and mentions that when she was in college, sometimes she would have 4-6 papers due in the same week and didn't have the conveniences that we have now. The bufoons pick up on this as, "Sucks to be you! Well you had the choice not to do it!" OMG! I just gave this idiot a dirty look. Hello, she's saying that we have it easier nowadays and we take it for granted! So don't whine when she assigns papers every other week, fool!

Ugh!
